L”ASTEMIA.
WHO IS SHE?
A driven Piedmontese businesswoman, dynamic even while still, Sandra Vezza loves to think out of the box.
Originally from Levice, in the Alta Langa, Sandra Vezza is the President of a leading food and pharmaceutical company and of the iconic design
brand Gufram.
L”Astemia is a declaration of love for her land and a return to her roots, to the times when her grandfather would walk hand in hand with her through vineyards, teaching her the vines’ secrets.
It is also the gamble of a woman who is a teetotaller (“astemia” in Italian), comes from a very different professional background and yet decided to open an unconventional winery in Barolo. Through design
and architecture, she creates a surreal and dreamlike poetry which uses the language of storytelling to offer a contemporary reading of an ancestral territory.

" We understand wine with our senses. But it is the e motions it gives to us which makes it unforgettable."

" Wine is not about drinking.
It is about memories, senses, harmonious molecules and the way in which they reach a perfect balance."
THE WINERY.
STYLE AND
SUBSTANCE
A contemporary dream in pop art style.
Electrifying. Beautiful. An array of striking colours which mirror the changing seasons.
L”Astemia is the winery with a rebel spirit and a visionary aesthetic. It is located in Barolo where the ridges of the Cannubi begin to climb towards the centre of town.
Viewed from the outside, it is made up of two large wine cases, one perched upon the other, which have been turned into a building.
Inside it combines the poetry of vineyards and a very stylish appearance with cutting edge technology which enables the entire production process to be carried out underground.
Here wine becomes the means to tell the culture, beauty and identity of a charming and discreet territory in an informal and straightforward way.
Bèlon du Bèlon is the label founded in 2000 by Paolo Perin as an expression of the strong passion for excellent wines, inherited from his father. Ambition is the heart of the company: to produce a wine capable of interpreting one of the richest terroir in the world in the best possible way, perfectly working only the best grapes. By managing to blend the knowledge of tradition with the most innovative techniques.

" We are working to bring out the heart of our land."
THE TERROIR.
THE ORGANIC
TURN
Organic viticulture, started in 2020, produced the first certified vintage in 2023. It is the result of a particular sensitivity nurtured over time and marks a new approach that respects the land and the people who inhabit it.
We have been enjoying wine for 8,500 years.
And every year, wine tests human intuition, proving that rural culture is not a static and tired tradition. With every harvest, winemakers reinvent themselves.
With organic winemaking, it is possible to vinify individual crus, bringing out all the characteristics of the different vineyards, starting from extremely healthy grapes. We follow the best dosing standards required by certification.
Organic fertilisation, low production quantities and loving care for our grapes contribute to creating a perfectly balanced glass of wine. Time confirms and reveals the quality and purity of its flavour.
THE WINES.
PURE FROM ROOT
TO BUNCH
The winery produces 15 labels. 28 hectares of production area in the municipalities of Barolo and Monforte.
The ownership of the vineyards guarantees our commitment to taking care of our land, landscapes and products. Improving the processes to
interfere as little as possible with the grapes is a responsible choice to ensure that what we pour into the glass mirrors the characteristics of the terroir, for a truly authentic drinking experience.
Dolcetto, Barbera, Nebbiolo and Nascetta are the indigenous grapes that we grow. Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Riesling, Chardonnay and
Viognier are our chosen international varieties.
We strive to bottle the best possible wine in the most natural way, giving our wines a strong territorial and varietal identity.
Wines express the emotions of the terroir and the vintage. It takes knowledge, experimentation, passion for what you do and a great team to make high quality wines.
Our sensory storytelling evolves with L”Astemia and now that it is all grown up, it wants to tell the quality of a content that lives up to the form.
